Custom Second Home

A Colorado couple sought a second home with a wonderful view. The  one-story 2000 square foot design contains two bedrooms with bathrooms, a kitchen with bar seating, a dining-great room, a laundry, powder, and a 600 square foot 3-car garage. Two schemes were developed.  The first was to include flat roofs and clerestory fenestration but was abandoned in favor of a simpler hipped roof that shed snow best. Charred cedar siding and metal roofing complete the design.
