A unique design for owners of a famous Chinese restaurant, the 4500 square foot home features a central atrium open to the sky which most of the main floor rooms adjoin. The plans included interior design details for the sunken living room, wall and ceiling treatments at the formal dining room, cabinetry for the family room and wet bar, and an upholstered wall in the owner’s bedroom. Balconies provide outdoor access from all three upper-level bedrooms. A heavy timber cedar louver shields the staircase from the southern sun. Use of concrete blocks for the walls contributes to the dramatic sculpture of the architecture. Other construction details were prepared as well for the pass-through bar counter, outdoor BBQ, pool deck, planters and benches.
