An expansive wraparound deck is accessible from the great room, breakfast area and guest bedroom and is equipped with a permanent dining table. The lower level holds three children’s bedrooms each with private bathrooms, a large playroom and generous storage closets. Wood framing the raised floors over the concrete slab permits ductwork from below and keeps them warm under foot. High-efficiency furnaces and air-conditioning, coupled with twin high-efficiency 50-gallon water heaters, foil-faced wall and ceiling insulation, and double low-E glazing throughout the house all help keep utility bills low. Stucco, aluminum-clad window, and concrete tile roofing keep the home easily maintained. From the street, wide overhangs, planters, window and door muntins, and a deliberately low horizontal profile recall Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie style that is unique, yet respectful of its neighbors.
